This memo is to update you on the status of the Huscroft Educational Trust. In January of this year, there were several new applications for Fall 2006 awards. There were also several applications for renewals.
Fall 2006 awards were promised to new applicants to support their studies as follows:

Fall 2006 awards were promised to previous recipients to support their ongoing studies as follows:

These awards will generally be paid in two installments, the first in September 2006 and the second in March 2006. The Advisory Board of the Huscroft Educational Trust recommended these awards based on the criteria set out in the trust document:
1. Economic potential of the trade or profession chosen and
degree, diploma or certificate sought
2. Financial need of the applicant
3. Academic achievement or trade skill of the applicant
4. Cost and location of the educational institution relative
to other equivalent educational options
5. Age of applicant; with priority being given to youth
6. Equity amongst beneficiary groups within the Huscroft
Family
In addition to these new awards, previously committed awards will be paid in March 2006 to Danna Duce, Marin Cocke, Cory Duce, Alexandre Chareti, Pedro Facuri Neto, Priscila Martins, Kristen Campbell, Patricia Facuri, Marden Litchfield, Sarah Hummel, and Fabricius Martins. Total payments by the Huscroft Educational Trust in March 2006 will be $28,250. Payments are made upon timely receipt of proof of admittance or transcripts as outlined in the award letters. By the end of March 2006, the Huscroft Educational Trust will have paid a total of $216,175 to students as follows:

It is with great pleasure that we can report that Carla Siqueira has graduated from her program. Dustin Litchfield, Melissa Chareti, and Sabrina Grondin had graduated previously.
The next awards will be for
Spring 2007. It is anticipated
that $50,000 (Canadian) per year will be awarded through distributions of small
($1,000) to large ($10,000) annual awards. Awards may be given for multiple years, but must be renewed
each year. Applications for
Spring 2007 must be received by July 15th, 2006 to be considered. Applications should be sent to the
chair at the address, fax or email given below. Use of email is preferred in order to ensure that
documents arrive before the deadline. Emailed documents must be sent as PDF
files, WORD documents, or JPEG images. The application forms are available on line at www.huscroft.ca.
The responsibility of making award recommendations is the role of the Advisory Board. Current Advisory Board members are John Huscroft, Patricia Huscroft, Dot Rathgeber, and Dawn Sommerfeld. If you have any questions, please contact one of the Advisory Board members. Over the coming months I will look forward to receiving applications for Spring 2006 awards.
In order to provide more
timely communication and eliminate the cost of postage, we have moved to email
distribution and internet posting of all letters from the Huscroft Educational
Trust. Family Update Letters are posted on the internet at www.huscroft.ca. If you wish to receive an email copy of these letters,
please email me with your contact information. Also please remember to inform us about changes of address
or new additions to the family so that we can keep our records of the Huscroft
Beneficiary Group current. Thank you for your assistance.
