This memo is to update you on the status of the Huscroft Educational Trust. In August of this year, there were no new applications for Spring 2006 awards. There were applications for renewals.
Spring 2006 awards were promised to previous recipients to support their ongoing studies as follows:

Priscila Martins $14,000 Centro Universit‡rio de Rio Preto, Dentistry
Patricia Facuri $3,500 Centro Universit‡rio do Norte Paulista, Psychology
Marden Litchfield $4,000 University of Lethbridge, Business
Kristen Campbell $6,000 Red Deer College, Education
Fabricius Martins $4,000 Centro Universit‡rio Luterano de Palmas, Marketing
Cory Duce $3,000 University of Alberta, Engineering
These awards will be paid in two installments, the first in March 2006 and the second in September 2006. The Advisory Board of the Huscroft Educational Trust recommended these awards based on the criteria set out in the trust document:
1. Economic potential of the trade or profession chosen and degree, diploma or certificate sought
2. Financial need of the applicant
3. Academic achievement or trade skill of the applicant
4. Cost and location of the educational institution relative to other equivalent educational options
5. Age of applicant; with priority being given to youth
6. Equity amongst beneficiary groups within the Huscroft Family
In addition to these new awards, previously committed awards will be paid in August 2005 to Marin Cocke, Alexandre Chareti, Pedro Facuri Neto, Carla Siqueira, Priscila Martins, Patricia Facuri, Marden Litchfield, Kristen Campbell, Fionna Riddell, Sarah Hummel, Danna Duce, Fabricius Martins, and Mark Huscroft. Total payments by the Huscroft Educational Trust in August 2005 will be $27,250. Payments are made upon timely receipt of proof of admittance or transcripts as outlined in the award letters. By the end of August 2005, the Huscroft Educational Trust will have paid a total of $195,925 to students as follows:

It is with great pleasure that we can report that Melissa Chareti, Sabrina Grondin, and Dustin Litchfield have graduated from their programs.
The next awards will be for Fall 2006. It is anticipated that $50,000 (Canadian) per year will be awarded through distributions of small ($1,000) to large ($10,000) annual awards. Awards may be given for multiple years, but must be renewed each year. Applications for Fall 2006 must be received by January 15th, 2006 to be considered. Applications should be sent to the chair at the address, fax or email given below. Use of email is preferred in order to ensure that documents arrive before the deadline. We prefer to receive documents as PDF files, WORD documents, or JPEG, GIF, or TIFF images. The application forms are available on line at www.huscroft.ca.
The responsibility of making award recommendations is the role of the Advisory Board. Current Advisory Board members are Melissa Chareti, John Huscroft, Patricia Huscroft, Dot Rathgeber, and Dawn Sommerfeld. If you have any questions, please contact one of the Advisory Board members. Over the coming months I will look forward to receiving applications for Fall 2006 awards.
In order to provide more timely communication and eliminate the cost of postage, we have moved to email distribution and internet posting of all letters from the Huscroft Educational Trust. Family Update Letters are posted on the internet at www.huscroft.ca. If you wish to receive an email copy of these letters, please email me with your contact information. Also please remember to inform us about changes of address or new additions to the family so that we can keep our records of the Huscroft Beneficiary Group current. Thank you for your assistance.
