Dear Family Member;
This
memo is to update you on the status of the Huscroft Educational Trust. In July of this year, six Spring 2003
awards were made as follows:
Alexandre
Chareti, CDN$4000, for studies at the Universidade de S‹o Paulo
Christina
Grondin, CDN$4000, for studies at Camosun College
Sabrina
Grondin, CDN$3000, for studies at Marvel College
Traven
Huscroft, CDN$4000, for studies at the University of Lethbridge
Priscila
Martins, CDN$4000, for studies at the Instituto Tocantinense Presidente Antonio
Carlos
Carla
Siqueira, CDN$4000, for studies at the Centro Universit‡rio do Norte Paulista
These
awards will be paid in two installments, the first in March 2003 and the second
in September 2003, except for SabrinaÕs, which is for a single term course.
In
addition to these new awards, previously committed awards will be paid in March
2003 to Melissa Chareti, Marin Cooke, Cory Duce, Danna Duce, Dustin Litchfield,
Lara Litchfield, and Pedro Facuri Neto.
Total payments by the Huscroft Educational Trust in March 2003 are expected
to be $25,000. Payments are made
upon timely receipt of transcripts as outlined in the award letters. To date, the Huscroft Educational Trust
has paid approximately $47,000 to students.
The
next awards will be for Fall 2003.
It is anticipated that $50,000 (Canadian) per year will be awarded
through distributions of small ($1,000) to large ($5,000) annual awards. Awards may be given for multiple years,
but must be applied for each year.
Applications for Fall 2003 must be received by January 15th
to be considered. Applications
should be sent to the chair at the address, fax or email given below. The application forms are available on

The
responsibility of making award decisions is the role of the Advisory
Board. The decisions will result
in part from reviewing the applicant's eligibility, economic potential,
financial need, and academic achievement, with priority given to youth.
